Masters on the river June 9th, 16th & 23rd
Masters update 19/5/08
River Swim/Training 8:00 pm Monday June 9th, 16th & 23rd
The above dates are proposed to have the MASTERS training sessions on the river. All participants swim at their own risk. Make sure that you have been training in the pool and either wear a wetsuit on the day or have completed 3 open water swims in May.
The sessions will be accompanied by two motor boats and some kayakers. It will be an ideal opportunity for swimmers to try out the river experience in good company.

The ten weeks are coming to a close – it is proposed that the swimmers stay back a few minutes after next weeks seesion to discuss what should happen next. See you then.
for your information - The first two Cork Open Water Swims of the season – 800m & 1,000m
1. Glenbrook Team Relay Sprints, Wednesday, June 4th, 2008 (6.30 pm)
We are looking for declarations of interest (guinea pigs!) for the first Glenbrook Team Relay at "Shalimar" (Nick and Simone's House) in Glenbrook, Passage West.
This social event will comprise a two person relay with each swimmer having to swim two short laps and one longer lap (total distance for each swimmer max. 800m). As this is a team event: please only put your name down if you are certain that you can attend and be punctual on the night - there are strong tides in this area so we will only have a limited time to complete the swim in the tidal comfort zone! There will be a small barbecue and a few beers afterwards.
We will restrict the numbers to twenty swimmers with ten evenly matched teams selected from those entered. Please advise of your intention to swim to nmulcahy@mcmplanning.com by Friday, May 23rd.
2. Annual Union Hall to Glandore Swim, Friday June 6th, (7:00 pm sharp)
Please be there for 6.30 to tog/ suit up and get registered. The registration fee is EURO 3 to cover meals for the helpers on the day - the remaining proceeds go to the RNLI.
Please send me an email to let me know if you will be joining us for the swim - there will be a maximum number of swimmers allowed so if you are keen to swim, let me know as soon as possible. Liz Buckley, elbuck01@yahoo.com
